NEW YORK, Sept. 8, 2022/PRNewswire-- The Israel Ministry of Tourism announced today record-breaking tourism arrivals from the United States visiting Israel in the months of July and August. Israel received 78,000 visitors from the United States for July 2022. This is a 4 percent increase over the year before, and 71,000 visitors from the United States for August 2022. This represents a 13% improvement from 2019.

Eyal Carlin from North America was the Tourism Commissioner. "The United States is our number one market for inbound tourism for Israel. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, we saw record-breaking numbers of Israeli tourists entering Israel each month. We are thrilled to witness this positive change and anticipate it to continue for many months and years."

Canada is in the process, as the United States, to surpass the number of tourists who visit Israel. In July 2022 Canada saw 7,200 tourists and August witnessed 6,600.

Gal Hana, Consul to Canada and Director of Canada at the Israel Ministry of Tourism stated that it was thrilling to see the Canadian tourism industry to Israel growing. "We are not too far away from our record-setting numbers in 2019, and we are anticipating that this growth in tourism to Israel will further increase as Canadians continue to feel more at ease travelling abroad."

Israel has welcomed more than 4.6 million visitors in the year 2019. 969,600 were of the United States. The country's official reopening to all travelers in May saw more than 600,000.
